Lofotens nature has unique and spectacular contrasts and kayaking is a great way to experience these. When you embark in a sea kayak you practically sit on the surface of the sea and can navigate it using your own bodily strength. Kayaking in the evening gives this experience a whole new dimension. The sea is normally calmer, and then there is the magical light! It does not get dark at night in Lofoten!
You can appreciate Lofotens dramatic mountains from a wholly new perspective when you paddle up close to them. It is an experience almost as majestic as standing on top of them. We use stable double kayaks on our trips. The combination of silence, raw nature on all sides, and full freedom of motion, makes sea kayaking one of our most popular adventures. Our guide meets you at our base in Svolvær harbour and provides you with the necessary instructions and adjusts your equipment for the trip. This is a two-hour long trip, tailored to suit those who wish to try out kayaking or who have little experience, but who also wish to learn about Lofotens history and culture from the coastline. The area we kayak from Svolvær harbour is calm, and well suited for beginners. No qualifications are necessary. If you have a camera you are welcome to bring it. You will find many opportunities to take great pictures. The evening light makes the experience extra special and the light for photography is brilliant.
Children over the age of 10 who can swim can participate in the company of an adult.

Recommendations to get the most out of the experience
The weather in Lofoten changes a lot from day to day, which is some of the charm of these isles. You should dress to suit the weather, and our recommendation is that on a cold summer day you wear wool underwear. It wicks moist away from your body, and you will not get cold even if you sweat or become wet. Since you are in motion throughout the trip, we have no further recommendations for what you wear, but it is a good idea to bring a change of clothing. Bring a water bottle too.
